Choosing a style that is right for your home is a personal preference. There are many styles available.   You can add borders around rooms or fireplaces for a completely different effect. You may have a family crest put in an entry of your home, or design your own inlay. You have the choice of creating your own style.

Strip Flooring:

Strip flooring is a linear product that is variable in length. The width of the product is usually 1 1/2 inches up to 3 inches. Solid material usually has more variation in length than engineered materials. Solid material will range from 1 foot to 8 foot in length.  Most engineered material will range from 1 foot to 42 inches in length, with the average length leaning toward 42 inches. Strip floor creates a linear effect while promoting a feeling of a larger room.

Plank Flooring:

Plank flooring is a linear product that is variable in length. The width of the product can be 3 inches up to 12 inches. The most common widths are 3, 4, 5, or 6 inch. Solid material will range from 1 foot to 8 foot in length. Most engineered material will range from 1 foot to 42 inches in length, with the average length leaning toward 42 inches.  Remember, the greater the width of the flooring (solid material) the less stabile the material.  In other words the wider the product is, the more expansion and contraction takes place. Cracks will be visible during the contraction stage. Plank flooring can help create more traditional or country decor.

Parquet Flooring:

Parquet flooring is a series of wood flooring pieces that create a geometric design. Design can be as simple as finger pattern or as complicated as a rhombus pattern.  You have an almost unlimited design option.  This is an excellent option when linear flooring is not your preference.
